Farnham Mill

Farnham Mill is a new 60 bed care home specialising in elderly and nursing care, along with 16 shared equity homes on a former mill pond site in Farnham.

Designed by Re-Format, the 3,400 square metre care home and the neighbouring housing are designed as a set of 2 and 3 storey buildings that match in terms of external form and materials.

Working with the client and contractor MCS, Irontree was asked to schedule and supply a full architectural ironmongery hardware package. Ensuring that the ironmongery on the project added real value, Irontree specified swing free door closers to allow the fire doors to be used easily, whilst ensuring the doors close in the event of a fire. Clear protection plates were also supplied to ensure doors are not damaged by wheel chairs or heavy equipment, whilst having minimal impact to the overall aesthetic of the interior. Finally, a full master keyed system was supplied along with the rest of the co-ordinated ironmongery package.
