The V&A Museum

Designed by Amanda Levete Architects (AL_A), the Exhibition Road Quarter redevelopment at the V&A Museum provides a range of new public spaces inside and outside, whilst creating a new relationship between the heart of the Museum and Exhibition Road. 

The project has created a new courtyard, entrance and glazed cafe on Exhibition Road, welcoming visitors into the space and allowing the previously hidden facades of Aston Webb’s original buildings to be seen. Internally, a new 1,100 square metre column-free space has been created allowing the V&A to significantly improve the way it designs and presents its world class exhibition programme.

Irontree was asked to assist with the redevelopment by sub-contractor Vogue Development. Ironmongery hardware and furniture was required for the glazed cafe on the courtyard whilst a range of sliding door hardware and ironmongery was needed inside the museum’s new exhibition spaces. From start to finish, Irontree managed the detailed scheduling of all items required whilst delivering to the tight deadlines on the project.
